The Ekiti State House of Assembly has been recognized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) as the top-performing House of Assembly in the country for ICT integration.

The award tagged the Distinguished Govtech Trailblazers Award was put in place by the Federal Government under Bureau of Public Service Reforms in the Presidency.

According to a press statement signed by Hon. Babatunde Oke, Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs stated that the prestigious acknowledgment underscores the legislative body’s commitment to embracing digital governance and govtech initiatives.

In a letter signed by the Director General of the BPSR, Dr. Dasuki Arabi, and received by the speaker, RT Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, the nomination follows a comprehensive assessment of state legislative houses across Nigeria.

Dr. Arabi highlighted the Ekiti State House of Assembly’s exceptional performance in leveraging technology for more efficient governance, leading to their qualification for the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award.

The official presentation of the award is scheduled for the 10th and 11th of this month in Abuja, where the Ekiti House of Assembly will be celebrated for its forward-thinking approach to legislative processes and public service reforms.

This recognition comes on the heels of notable technological advancements made by the 7th Assembly, under the leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye.

Earlier this year, the Assembly commissioned a digital studio, which is attached to the legislative chamber.

According to the Speaker, the launch of the digital studio is a key component of the ongoing digital transformation within the House, aimed at enhancing transparency, communication, and legislative efficiency.

The award marks a significant milestone for the Ekiti Assembly, reflecting its dedication to modernizing governance and staying at the forefront of technological innovation in public service.

With this achievement, the House sets a high standard for other legislative bodies in Nigeria to follow, as it continues to push boundaries in integrating technology for better governance and public service delivery.
