Ekiti State has been described as paragon of tourism waiting to be explored.

This was disclosed by the new Director-General Bureau of Tourism, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre this morning as a special guest in a popular radio station, Fresh FM Ado-Ekiti monitored by our correspondent.

The Tourism icon while responding to questions lauded the Ekiti State Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji for deeming it fit to put Tourism as one of the policy thrusts of his administration because of his belief that agric and Tourism should be the fulcrum of revenue generation for the state.
According to him; “Ekiti is paragon of Tourism because God carefully created Ekiti State for Tourism and interestingly we now have a Governor who created Tourism as a stand-alone agency with a DG and not only that, he is making it the number 6th pillar of his administration. That means the time has come for Tourism”. He says

On his road map for the newly created agency, Ojo-Lanre who boasted of 32 unbroken years in tourism industry stated that his coming on board at this time is to leverage on his wide experience, network and the platform created by the governor to take Ekiti Tourism to greater heights.

Reeling out Ekiti Tourism potentials and the scenic natural features from Efon Alaaye enroute Ipole-Iloro Water falls to the Ikogosi warm springs to Abanijorin Hills, the DG highlights the need to create the awareness
His words; “The first thing we need is to create awareness that tourism is not just about making noise, Tourism is big business to everybody and we have to involve all the stakeholders and who are the first impression managers? The Nigerian Road and Transport workers, the taxi drivers, the okada riders and other affliated unions. These people have to be absolved and let them know that they are ambassadors of Ekiti. They are first impression managers because it is those people who know who is who and places”. He said
