The Onijan of Ijan Ekiti HRM Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi, has lent his voice to join several Ekiti indigenes commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji over the recent approval by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to commence non-scheduled flight operations in the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport (EAICA).

The monarch in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Sunday described the much awaited take-off of the airport as a welcome development.
The statement reads; “I want to use this occasion to congratulate the people of Ekiti state particularly our hard working Governor His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for making the airport project a reality in view of many challenges along the way
“The Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport is a welcome development coming at this time that Ekiti State is in dire need of fast economic development and aggressive investment drive from local and international investors, an airport of this nature is most desirable” he said.

Oba Aladesuyi spoke further; ‘I thank the Governor for his commitment to extend the dividends of democracy to all the neglected communities in Ekiti State since he came on board as Ijan and other adjoining communities in the local government is enjoying the restoration of our electricity after so many years of darkness. I believe the airport project will equally have a positive impact on Ijan and the towns along the axis because of their proximity to the airport terminal when fully operational” he concluded.

Recalled that the approval, which is valid for a period of six months until June 15, 2025, follows the Ekiti State Government’s request for a flight operational permit which was granted by the aviation regulator.
