EKITI AMOTEKUN PARADES 72 YEAR-OLD MAN, 4 OTHERS FOR STEALING, BURGLARY

Nemesis has caught up with five suspects including a 72 year-old man who were nabbed by men of Ekiti Amotekun corps in different locations in the state on Tuesday.

Parading the suspects before the newsmen in his office, the Commandant of Ekiti Amotekun corps, Brigadier-General Joe Komolafe said:

“Five people were arrested three of them for house breaking attempt and two for breaking into Water Corporation properties in Okemesi

“On interrogation, two people escaped one of the people that escaped is being pursued by my men who is believed to have in possession all the stolen items and when we get him, we will be able to recover items that were stolen”

In a separate incidence that occurred at Tinuola Estate along Afao road, Ado Ekiti, the Amotekun Commander said:

“We received a call from Tinuola Estate this morning where we were able to arrest three people namely: Rufai Isiaka, 20, Bwari Ibrahim, 19, Mutahiru Yahaha, 20.

“They went to break into a woman’s house, stole a pumping machine and some other items

“Some of the items recovered are here except the one in Okemesi that they have sold out”

He pleaded for continuous corporation with the members of the public in partnership with security operatives to report any unusual movements in their neighbourhood.

The three suspects arrested in Okemesi include; Oladosun Eniola 52, Fatokun Michael 72, but the one that escaped arrest is Wale.

Speaking to the newsmen, the victim of the stolen pumping machine narrates her ordeal: “My name is Mrs Modupe Osho. I lived at Kolawole Martins street Tinuola area in Ado Ekiti. My boy called me and reported that the pumping machine has been stolen and we quickly ran to the spot where we met the suspect who couldn’t explain his mission, we then raised alarm and people came out to apprehend the three of them

“That’s how they operate in the Estate for a long time. They have stolen complete generating sets, pumping machines and electronics. In fact they have been caught for burglary during daytime when residents would have gone to work. These criminals have been a major problem in the whole estate as they operate freely with a lot of dangerous weapons” She said.
