EKITI AMOTEKUN NAB MAN FOR RAPING MINOR

Operatives of Ekiti Amotekun corps have recorded another successful feat in curbing crime in the state following the arrest of a Kogi State -born 32-year-old man, Yakubu Maji for alleged raping of a minor (name withheld) in Are-Ekiti in Ifedara LCDA

The security outfit in a press statement signed by Officer Adeleye Adewale, Head of Communication Department and made available to our correspondent on Thursday stated that the officers of the corps arrested the suspect for allegedly raping a 10-year-old minor who is a native of Okene, Kogi State and resides in Are Ekiti.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim said she was sent on an errand by her mother when the suspect lured her into his room and forcefully had a carnal knowledge of her and threatened to kill her if she disclose the illicit act to anyone.

According to the 10 year-old victim, the suspect later gave her N300 after brandishing a cutlass before her threatening to deal decisively with her should she reveal the incident to anyone.

In a related development, the enraged mother of the victim revealed that the suspect was once caught for similar offence in the community before.

The suspect has therefore been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State police command in Ado-Ekiti for further profiling.
