The Ekiti State Amotekun operatives have arrested 27-year-old Bankole Samuel, residing at Housing Estate, Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday 10th December, 2024 for alleged cyber stalking by posting his ex-girlfriend’s nude pictures on the internet.
In a fresh press release by the corps Head of Communication Department, officer Adeleye Adewale,
the suspect, upon interrogation confessed to have committed the criminal act, against a 22-year-old girl (name and details withheld) who was his ex-girlfriend.
In a related development, the victim, while narrating her ordeal said they have been dating for four years after they both parted ways and ended the relationship while she settled down with another man of her choice..
She further disclosed to the Amotekun Officers how the suspect has been posting her naked pictures to the general public on social media, purposely to injure her reputation, and at the same time, threatening her life.
Unknown to her, the offending pictures of her nudity had been circulated in the social media for a while until some of her friends who viewed the pictures drew her attention to it through calls and physical contacts.
The suspect, as well as the items recovered from him at his residence, has been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado-Ekiti for further investigation.
