The Ekiti State government’s determined efforts to keep farmers safe in the farms against armed bandits and terrorists in farmsteads received a boost on Monday as men of Ekiti Amotekun Corps in a sting operation, made an arrest of 35 year-old Musa Abdullahi from Sokoto State suspected of supplying food and other offering other courier services to them.
Musa Abdullahi according to a statement signed by Officer Adeleye Abiodun, Head, Communications Department of the Corps resides in Shasha in Akure, Ondo State.
He said the operatives acting on a tip off, combed the forest of lse-Ekiti at Oritan Forest Reserve during a patrol, where the suspect was apprehended.
Upon interrogation, Abdullahi was said to have confessed to the crime claiming that he was in the forest reserve as food supplier to the suspected Fulani/Bororo bandits inhabiting the area.
The suspect and some exhibits recovered from him at the scene of the incident have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Ise-Orun Division, lse-Ekiti for further investigation.
