EKITI AGRO MARSHALS ARREST PROPHET, 4 OTHERS FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING, RAPE

Ekiti State Agro Marshals has nabbed a prophet and four other suspects over drug trafficking, rape of a minor and middle-aged-woman in the State.

Parading the suspects in Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday, Commander of the Corps, Johnson Oni, said the suspects – Emmanuel Abimbola, Ayodele Ajele, Sunday Abiodun, Ajewole Olamilekan and Promise Odife were arrested at different locations for perpetrating crimes in the State.

Oni, a retired Commissioner of Police, said that Emmanuel Abimbola, a self-acclaimed prophet, was arrested in Eda-Ile for allegedly attacking an officer of the corps, who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

According to the Commander, one Ajele was arrested in Ijero-Ekiti over an attempted rape of a 61 year-old women

According to the Corps’ Commander;
“When the victim was interviewed, he said his reason was that he loves the woman, tore her clothes and inner wears, which were made available as exhibits. He also attempted murder with knife on the woman while trying to rape her and he told the officers that he used Indian hem, drugs and pills before raping the woman.”

Speaking further, Commander Oni said another suspect, Abiodun was arrested for attempted rape of an 85-year-old woman who couldn’t walk and have eye defects adding that he always praises her skirts and admires her having successfully broke into her box and stole her jewelries.

In a related development Commander Oni said: “A man from Aiyetero, popularly known as Pakolo an herbalist was arrested with his Shigidi and Osonyin.

“He worships the Shigidi and Osoyin. This was his third rape case in the community. He was allegedly said to have raped a girl of 13-year-old. The victim is said to be in the hands of the Gender Crew. It was discovered that he always wiped the ladies private parts with material and place it on the Osoyin.

“A boy known as Promise Odife, who worked for a lady at a supermarket as a guardian or watchman at night allegedly started stealing from her to establish his business for about three months. He managed to have gotten himself a shop, where he sells stolen items and also bought himself a tricycle in the process.”

The Commander said they have been able to cover the State through Ipao, Oke Ako Irele and got information that two people were killed in Eruku, a boarder town to Ekiti and one Kidnapped adding that his men are on alert to avoid a recurrence.
“Within the period under review, the team has been to Ikere reserve forest were someone was kidnapped and we had a shootout but we repelled the attack while they fled to Ijare bush in Ondo State. This is what we have done under the period of review to curb insecurity in Ekiti State.”
The Commander said the suspects will be handed over to the police for further investigations and prosecution
