Notable and critical stakeholders in security sector in Ekiti State are set to discuss issues about the state security with regards to community policing in a Special Roundtable organized by a non-governmental, nonpartisan, cross generational organization, Ekiti Future Agenda (EFA)
The event which will have the State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji as the Special Guest of Honor will take place this Thursday, 13th June at Arowolo Hall, Fajuyi Area of the state capital, Ado-Ekiti with the theme; “Community Policing in Time Like This” .
The Special Roundtable will be chaired by the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security Matters, Ebenezer Ogundana, a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, while the discussion will be led by the duo of Oludotun Adetunberu, a security scholar and the Director General of the State Homeland Intelligence as well as Marcus Ogundola, a Chief Superintendent of Police and the Command of RRS of the State Police Command.
Other discussants include the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Agboola, the Commander of the State Agro Marshal, Olamide Oni, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Olusanya Fabiyi, the Director General, Ekiti State Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mine and Agriculture (EKICCIMA), Ifedayo Iyaniwura, President, Rice Producers and Marketers of Nigeria and Mike Ogungbemi, the Chairman, Ajoni LCDA, Ekiti State.
According to the organizers of the event, the Convener of Ekiti Future Agenda, Adesina Adetola, the event which is expected to have over two hundred security personnel, youths, members of the organized private sector among others in attendance is one of the organization’s “proactive ways to create a platform for interactive engagement towards building a virile state. The event is to identify and discuss potential security issues and proffer realistic solutions to them. Thereby ensuring a more prosperous society as well as a greater and more rewarding future.”
