In time like this when a cloud of despondency, hopelessness and poverty hovers around the nation’s jugular, some people have singled themselves out to make a difference through their service of love to humanity with special focus on Ekiti youths.

One of such is Divine Motivation for Positive Impact Initiative DMPII, a Non-Governmental Organization and the brainchild of an Ekiti-born youth prodigy, life coach and philanthropist, Mr Gbenga Emiloju who recently celebrated tenth year of impactful contributions to the generation of Ekiti youths, the vulnerable and the poor through his NGO amid pomp and celebration.

The gala event held at Arowolo ballroom on Saturday January 27, 2024 was a gathering of ‘who is who’ in politics, captains of industry, top civil servants and the clergy who turned out enmass in honour of the host.

One of the high points of the day’s event was the presentation of certificates to selected youths from across all the Local Government Areas in the state who had gone through a six months free training session in building a future career in the fast moving world of ICT and information super highway.

Speaking to our correspondent, the organizer of the high octane event Mr Emiloju attributed the project as a vision he received from God about ten years ago.

His words; “God gave me the vision ten years ago to start the organization addressing the needs of the poor, the vulnerable and the youths and to the glory of God we have been organizing programs since that time till today and in that space of time, we have organized programs worth more than N55million in touching lives here and there”

In similar vein, Emiloju said the program slated for this year was targeted at the youths as he noted that; “The program we are organizing this year is purposely for the youths, trying to address the level of unemployment that is rising everyday. We believe there’s several career opportunities embedded in tech which our youths are not exploring, so, the Theme is ‘DIFINING CAREER ORIENTED YOUTH’ focussing on how they can start or build careers in technology to address the unemployment problem and at the same time part of our efforts to help the youths managing whatever they are doing in terms of entrepreneurship is to give them grants which is done by a sub-sector of the NGO called GIGMOF SCHOOL OF MENTORING. The body has given 13 of the graduands a grant of N1. 6million to support their entrepreneurship ideas”

Author of a motivational book with the title; ‘Passion for Excellence’ Emiloju at the book presentation described the work of art as a compendium that can guide a man to live a productive and fulfilled life. According to him, “It is strategically composed to help an individual live meaningfully for self-discovery, self- development, purpose fulfilment career management, life after retirement and relation management amongst others”… Details later
