The Provost, Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adebayo has restated the Institution’s zero tolerance for cultism, gangsterism, gender based violence and other social vices.
While addressing new intakes at the Institution’s 14th matriculation ceremony, Dr. Adebayo noted that the ceremony was not only an annual rite, but also an official process of inducting them into the academic community.
She maintained that programmes available in the Institution had been duly accredited by the National Board for Technical Education and other statutory regulatory bodies, expressing hope that the College would soon transmute into a Polytechnic, and would then be able to train students interested in studying Engineering, Technology and Management related courses.

The Provost further hinted the gathering that, the first set of the College’ Higher National Diploma (HND), Health Information Management graduates would be mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps programme this year, just as efforts were in top gear to replicate the feat in other courses.
While expressing gratitude to the Governor of Ekiti State; His Excellency Biodun Oyebanji for his numerous contributions to the development of the College, Dr. Adebayo further hailed the Institution’s Governing Council Chairman; Dr. Femi Thomas, and other Council members for their genuine interest in the progress of COHESTI.
She explained that the recent accreditation of the College’ Public Health, Environmental Health and Health Information Management degree programmes by the National Universities Commission became reality, because of the immense support of stakeholders, within and outside the academic community, especially Kwara State University.
On his part, the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Ekiti State Coordinator; Mr. Olukayode Dada hailed the College Management for not reneging in the task of uplifting the Institution’s academic standard.

He urged the matriculants to be studious and focused in order to succeed in their chosen academic field.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the oath taking by matriculants, conducted by the College Registrar; Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, who did not mince words in applauding them for their comportment during the exercise.
The matriculation ceremony was attended by Principal Officers, Ekiti JAMB Officials, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, Parents and well wishers.
