Ado -Central Local Council Development Area, Ado Ekiti.Engr. Toyin Ojo has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi on the conferent of 2023 Best Governor’s Award on Community Development by the Daily Independent newspapers Management on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
The Chairman in a congratulatory message issued on Friday through the Council’s Director of Information & Civic Orientation, Mr Olatunji Sunday described the award as well deserved considering his indelible imprints recorded in virtually all sectors especially area of grassroot development.
Ojo lauded the Lagos based media outfit for putting into cognizance all the sterling contributions of the Governor to the community development in the state before arriving at the final selection .
The council boss attributed various developmental projects and programmes being witnessed across the state to free hands given to Local Governments and LCDAs’ chairmen in the state adding that such decision has paved ways for the availability of funds to executive projects by councils’ chairmen .
His words; “Oyebanji ‘s avowed commitment to grassroot development can be seen and felt in many ways such as road constructions , road rehabilitation, grading of local roads , employment of over three thousand teachers to fill vacant positions in both primary and secondary schools
“Others are construction of modern classrooms in rural areas as well as monthly stipends for the widows, the vulnerable and senior citizens among numerous interventions programmes to lift the poor rural dwellers out of poverty occasioned by the current global economic down turn “
The council chair noted that within his council area alone, four notable roads were reconstructed with full asphalt overlane which included Moferere -Agric Olope road, Omisanjana – Ajebamidele road , Oke Oniyo- road Oke Bola among others .
“Let me at this juncture, congratulate my Governor for being counted worthy of this coveted award. No doubt, this award is a reflection of your commitment and dedication to make grassroots more attractive and liveable”
The chairman urged the governor to remain focused and sustain the developmental strides across the state .
The council boss appealed to Ekiti people to continue to stand by the Governor to deliver based on his carefully chosen six- point agenda of his administration.
