The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has once again, demonstrated his love to a segment of the society many considered as vulnerable, the needy, and People Living with Disabilities (PWDs)

The gesture, which has been the Governor’s defining characteristic since he came on board took a new dimension this year.

In the spirit of Christmas, Oyebanji, through the Office of Community Communications, launched a special Christmas program on Monday tagged “BAO Christmas Surprise.”

The program kicked off with financial empowerment for members of the Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) drawn from all local government areas of the state. In addition to cash grants aimed at supporting their businesses, the beneficiaries also received food items.

Also, the high point of the program was the presentation of a brand-new wheelchair to one of the beneficiaries, who revealed that she usually borrows a wheelchair for mobility whenever she goes out.

The elated lucky woman described the kind gesture from Mr. Governor as a huge surprise, adding that she never expected such a thoughtful gift.

In a related development, starting this week, the Office of Community Communications will be touring local government areas across the state to further extend Mr. Governor’s love to the people through the distribution of cash and food items to less privileged citizens.

This is a clear manifestation of Governor Oyebanji’s special priority on the welfare of PWDs in Ekiti State both in words and action.

However, the empowerment program left the beneficiaries deeply appreciative, with many expressing their gratitude for the kind gesture.

They noted that the decision to launch the BAO Christmas Surprise program with them underscores the Governor’s respect, care, and value for their community.

While pledging their unwavering support for his administration, the beneficiaries also shared their hope that Governor Oyebanji will consider running for a second term, even though he is yet to declare his intention.

They vowed to do everything within their capacity to influence his decision, describing his leadership as truly exemplary and transformative.
