A fake National Identification Number (NIN) official has met his waterloo barely two weeks after operatives of Ekiti State Amotekun Security Network caught the first offender in the act in what suggest a new wave of defrauding people.
This is, as the eagle eyes of Amotekun operatives, lse-Ekiti Local Government Command arrested a 26 year-old suspect, simply identified as-Tayo Ige along First Bank Road Emure-Ekiti.
According to a press statement issued by the Head of Amotekun Communications, Officer Adeleye Abiodun, the suspect hails from Odo-Emure but has been defrauding countless number of the local people who fell victims as a result of urgent need to regularize their biometrics with NIN.
In his confessional statement, the suspect admitted his guilt over the alleged crime, adding that he has been duping a large number of people in the town by impersonating NIN Official.
He narrated the tactics deployed when carrying out his deceptive mission, by simply going from one place to another in the community equipped with fake official materials of the National Identification Number (NIN) to cajole them.
The arresting Officers further explained that, Ige was apprehended in the town during a security patrol, adding that, he was immediately transferred to Amotekun Headquarters Command, and handed over to the management of the NIN in Ado-Ekiti for further investigation.
