ALAWE URGES INDIGENES TO BRACE UP FOR MORE DEVELOPMENTS, COMMENDS OYEBANJI

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1, has urged Ilawe indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to cooperate in sustaining the high tempo of success achieved in all fronts in the outgone year 2023 while looking forward to achieving more in 2024.

The monarch who was a former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers in his New Year message thanked God for the humongous achievements and positive developments in 2023 and the grace to witness the new year 2024.

In a press statement signed by High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, his Media Adviser, the Alawe said; “May the good Lord make the new year an unprecedented success for all sons and daughters of Ilawe – Ekiti both at home and in the Diaspora. It is my prayer that the new year will be fruitful coupled with God’s blessings to all and sundry”, Oba Alabi said .

Reeling out some achievements in the 2023, the Oba noted the St Theresa Community hospital received the approval of the Federal Government to become an annex of the Federal Teaching hospital, Ido Ekiti while a Federal College of Education has begun operations in the town. Also, the Federal Government aided Man o’ War Bay was established in the town during the year

The Alawe also commended the State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the prompt attention given to the reconstruction of Ilawe to Ado road, Ilawe to Igede road, Ilawe to Erijiyan road and the ongoing construction of Ilawe to Ikere road as well as providing a stand by electricity generator to Ilawe General hospital in Okebedo quarters .

The Alawe was emphatic that more sons and daughters of Ilawe recorded giant strides in their various fields. For the first time, an indigene,Chief Abiodun Alabi was appointed a Deputy Inspector General of Police while Mrs Funmi Falana the wife Barrister Femi Falana SAN became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN

“Many others made their marks in various fields . All these would not have been possible without the cooperation of all, especially our sons and daughters who are highly placed in the society or in an atmosphere of peace, the Oba declared.

He therefore appealed to all Ilawe indigenes to continue in that spirit of togetherness in the new year and imbibe in the spirit of forgiveness to allow further development of the community,.

The Alawe prayed that the new year would witness monumental achievements which would make the community the cynosure of all eyes throughout Ekiti State and beyond.
