The outgoing week is fully loaded for the award winning Chairman of Ajoni LCDA and this is authoritative!
With two awards in quick succession recognizing his outstanding performance, the Executive Chairman of Ajoni LCDA Prince Michael Oluwadare Ogungbemi PMO has set a new template for quality leadership and grassroots development in Ekiti State.
Beginning with the prestigious award of “Outstanding Sports Loving LG Boss Award” by frontline sports promoter-The Gogetter/Multilinks on Tuesday, the sky appears the beginning for the council boss
But barely 24 hours after, the leadership of the Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC), led by its Chairman, Adedara Temitope Moses, paid a surprised courtesy visit to the elated Council Boss and presented him with ‘ICONIC LEADERSHIP AWARD: PILLAR OF DEVELOPMENT’
According to the youth organization, the award was in recognition of Ogungbemi’s several social interventions programmes, infrastructural development, forthrightness and most importantly, in the area of innovations, passion and creativity.
During the award presentation, the NYC spokeperson, Comrade Great Olasoji Gabriel, described NYC as a recognized credible body at both federal and state levels noting that the youth organization was devoid of political affiliation.
Olasoji pointed out that the body does not give to flippancy nor playing to the gallery on the award conferment but reiterated that the award was a product of sincerity and well thought-out action.
The spokesperson of the NYC applauded PMO on his various well encapsulated developmental projects executed in dexterous manners to bring succour to the people.

Speaking in similar vein, NYC Chairman, Comrade Adedara Temitope, stated that the news around town about the performances of the Executive Chairman of Ajoni LCDA has been heartwarming adding that all the accolades being showered on Ogungbemi were clear and amplified testimonies to him having a full grasp of the local government administration and politics with incorruptible lifestyle and ingenious thinking to deliver dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Comrade Adedara commended the LG boss for making Ajoni an epicentre of development and a place where good things happen.
He added that Ogungbemi has successfully rewritten the history of the council and set it on the path of accelerated development.
In his response, Ogungbemi appreciated the NYC Ekiti State chapter for the visit and recognition. He described the award as a tonic that will buoy his spirit and dedication to continually serve the people zealously and sacrificially.

He said: “I feel happy about this ward. This shows that people are appreciating what we are doing, this shows this local government is functioning, this shows that we are being watched, not only from within the state, but also from outside the state. This will make me to do more, infact, we are already working on another set of projects, it will be unveiled soon.
”If you want to succeed as a leader, you must plan with the people, you don’t plan for them, and your door must be open to them. All these have helped in eradicating kidnapping and other vices in my local council development area. A lot is being done and we are going to do more. When we are done with most of development agenda for the progress and growth of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, people will know that local government is truly functional.”

In their various submissions, the LCDA’s HLA, Vice Chairman and Secretary, appreciated the team for the encouragement. They pledged continued support for Ogungbemi in his quests to project the image of the Youths as good instruments of change in Ekiti and Nigerian society.
