The Executive Chairman of Ado -Central Local Council Development Area, Ado Ekiti,Engr. Toyin Ojo has again won another prestigious Nigerian Local Government Excellent Award conferred on him by the Medals Magazine based in Abuja .
The award was in recognition of his exemplary contribution to the overall grassroots development of Ado Central LCDA.
The award ceremony took place at the National Merit Award Auditorium , Merit House, Maitama ,Abuja, the nation’s capital on Thursday,May 23, 2024.
In his welcome remarks at the well- attended event , the project coordinator of the programme , Mr Ilesanmi Olayoriju said the
Medals Magazine is proud to extend its heartfelt congratulations to the lucky recipients of the prestigious award noting that the Magazine thoroughly reviewed and examined the impressive contributions of each of the awardees in developing rural communities, especially in areas such as human capital development and infrastructural improvement.
“Our award committee has diligently considered various factors in making its selections, including your dedication, hard work, and impact on the lives of your communities.
We truly believe that your achievements deserve to be celebrated and recognized, and we are honored to be part of this recognition”
The coordinator further explained that, in addition to various other factors, another crucial element considered before selecting the awardees was the efficient and judicious use of local government funds, especially in the context of a global economy that has been witnessing a decline.
Mr. Olayoriju described the awardees as selfless leaders who have exhibited transparency and accountability in handling the financial affairs of their respective councils, underscoring their commitment to responsible governance and the welfare of their communities.
Speaking after the conferment of the award , Engr.Toyin Ojo who was represented by Mrs Toluwa Fayemi at the event lauded the Magazine for an unbiased evaluation of his accomplishments and contributions to the development of the council area. He said the award would further propel him to keep pushing for people -centred policies and programs ,ultimately driving the growth and development of his council area .
The council boss vowed to continue to give adequate attention to the needs of his people especially the downtrodden.
Ojo applauded Ekiti State Governor , Mr Biodun Abayomi for the critical roles being played in creating an enabling environment that supports his efforts and allows him to operate without undue interference in the running of the affairs of the council.
Engr. Toyin Ojo has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence and advancement of his council area, which have earned him several awards over the past years in recognition of his outstanding efforts and achievements. These include the prestigious “Best Nigeria Local Government Chairmen Merit Award” for 2023, the “Nigeria Bar Association, Ikere Branch, Merit Award” for 2023, as well as the “News Telegraph Best Performing Chairman Merit Award” for 2023, among others.
