The Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti FETHI Prof Adekunle Ajayi has expressed a deep sense of personal loss at the death of the hospital’s head of Information and Corporate Affairs Department, Mr Bank Akinnuoye Abiodun Francis (JP) who passed on last month.
The CMD stated this on Tuesday during the commendation service held in honour of the deceased at Ido Ekiti.
In an emotion laden speech, Prof Ajayi disclosed that the sudden demise of the organization’s image maker has created a big void in his working environment too difficult to fill.
“I told people that are close to me that the environment including the office where I stayed appears strange because of the void that had been created by the death of Mr Bank. I never knew that the environment that I have been so used to and accustomed to can suddenly become so strange until this event happened and that is because someone had the opportunity to make an impact not in the life of the hospital but in me as a person and that is why I experienced a void”
According to him, “Mr Bank spent 40% of his life serving Federal Teaching Hospital Ido Ekiti and a lot of people might not know this. Directly, I’ve worked with him for five years plus and he never lamented once about anything”
Quiting the Greek great philosopher, Aristotle, Ajayi said: “Time crop on all things, new things become old with time and as time goes on even old things become forgotten. Name forgotten, tenure forgotten. It is even possible that this commendation service forgotten but the impact he has made in people’s life would remain for ever”
He said the deceased left behind a legacy of good nature, dedication, commitment, professionalism and above all, legacy of loyalty adding that the only thing that could be done to his memory was to replicating him as much as possible.
Addressing the children of the deceased, Prof Ajayi assured them that they would reap bountifully the benefits of the seed their father had planted.
He said in addition that the hospital community would offer prayerful support to the family of the departed .
Late Mr Bank until his death was a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church.
Prof Adeoluwa Victor, the VC of University of Biodun Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti BOUESTI, who represented the church where the deceased presided paid a glowing tribute to the invaluable contribution of the late Mr Bank to the christendom as a soldier of Christ in his life time
