The 93 year-old father of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Pa Ezekiel Olukunle Oyebanji has celebrated his new age on a low key with few family members and some invited guests at his local church, Gateway Baptist Church Basiri off Old Iyin Road Ado Ekiti on Sunday.

The nonagenarian retired school principal was evidently in high spirit as he danced through out the family Thanksgiving week of the church that coincided with his birthday.

The presiding Pastor of the church, Rev. Dr. P.S Olayemi in his brief sermon taken from the book of Psalm 107 spoke on various attributes of acceptable sacrifice to God by true Christians noting that for any sacrifice to be acceptable, it must be relational amongst other factors after which he offered prayers to the celebrant and other families.

At the end of the homilies, the stage was set for the celebrant to come out for the Thanksgiving proper.

Pa Oyebanji, spotting a white smart safari shirt and trousers in company of his guests joyfully danced to the alter where he appreciates God for sparing his life.

He was joined by the VC, Ekiti State University, Prof. Joseph. Babalola Ayodele and his wife, Prof. Andrew Omojola, the VC of Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology, Ikere- Ekiti, Others included Dr. and Mrs. Alex Akin Tayo and Engr. Deacon Komolafe, a former Head of Service.

In a chat with our Correspondent, Pa Oyebanji disclosed the two reasons why he danced before the Lord at the auspicious occasion.

According to him; “I was so happy for two main reasons, one, that I’m alive hale and healthy at age 93, that God has been so kind to me. When I looked back, even in my town at Ikogosi, I think at the moment I’m the oldest, at least the oldest man, I don’t know about women. How do I merit it? But God has been so kind to have spared my life and after sparing my life, the kind of achievements He bestowed on my children both men and women which has given me the quantum of joy that occupied my mind today that made me to dance before the Lord. I will dedicate my life to the service of my Lord till the time to go home” he concluded.
