As the race to fill the vacant stool of the Elemure following the passing of the late Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, the Abenimota ruling House which presented five contestants for the coveted Elemure stool has released an exclusive historical record detailing the legitimacy of each of the contestants to the throne.
The classified report made available to EKITI STANDARD at the weekend by the Ruling House stated thus;
“Several months after the passing of our revered monarch, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, in May 2024, the Abenimota Ruling House, now due to present the next Elemure of Emure Ekiti has formally begun the selection process for this sacred royal stool.
“However, we have noted with deep concern the circulation of rumours across social media and print platforms which questioned the paternal heritage and thus, the eligibility of some of the five contenders submitted by our House.
“According to Chieftaincy Law and longstanding tradition, only princes of direct male line are qualified to ascend the throne.
“To uphold the honour and integrity of the Abenimota Ruling House, we, the concerned princes and princesses have so far taken a transparent step. We asked each of the five candidates to publicly present their paternal lineages
and all of them have confidently done so as shown in the lineage chart below:
