The office of Community Communications, Governor’s Office Ado Ekiti on Saturday, completed it’s two weeks Local Governments tour on a glorious note as not less than 5000 volunteer community Canvassers for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji were fully equipped to carry the gospel of ‘vote for BAO’ during the June 20 governorship election to every nook and crannies of Ekiti State.
At each of the 16 Local Governments visited during the week, the DG Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotoso who anchored the exercise, took her time to explain the details of process, procedure and work plan needed by the canvassers in order to achieve the main target of delivery at least, 125,000 votes for her boss on the election day.

Recalled that the office had earlier inaugurated the 5000 Community Canvassers for BAO last month at a well attended program held at the popular Fajuyi Pavilion with an assemblage of heavy crowd of supporters of the governor including non politicians, associations, professional bodies, transport unions and the clergy.
According to the DG, the recent tour was a follow up to the February official inauguration of the body intended to orientate, sensitize and empower the Canvassers from their various communities on the task ahead.
Speaking to our correspondent at a press briefing in Oye Ekiti, Omotoso said the era has gone in this state where politicians would organize rallies full of sound and loud jamboree without good result because most of the gathering do not have voters cards.

She hinted that her office had improvised a model of campaign strategy which is a clear departure from the past, more scientific and Community driven.
According to the Governor’s aide, each of the 5000 community canvassers for BAO have been mandated to deliver 25 votes as they go about house-to-house campaigns expected to reap in 125,000 votes for the Governor on election day.
The work plan according to Omotoso was a direct response to the 187,000 votes recorded for Oyebanji during the 2022 election noting that the canvassers alone are capable of garnering 125,000 votes and more as the governor has given a clear mandate that Ekiti people must give him a minimum of 5000,000 votes on June 20.
As the two weeks’ sensitization tour ended on Saturday at the AB Hotel Adebayo area of Ado Ekiti, the Canvassers were given campaign materials including campaign tags, posters and logistics for the campaign exercise.

Meanwhile, in appreciation of the mobilization efforts of the Office of Community Communications and the love they have for Governor Oyebanji two exemplary philanthropists has donated situation offices for the community canvassers.
This unprecedented gesture by Engr. Abegunde from Ikole and Hon. Falana from Ifaki was well appreciated by the DG who performed the official opening and dedication of the two fully furnished offices.
All the canvassers comprising loyal and committed lovers of the governor were drawn from each local government across the state to begin in earnest the campaign exercise ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
On the tour of the highly successful trip are strong team of the Bureau of Community Communications including Hon. Bamayi, Hon. Folasade, Mrs. O, all the SAs support staff and the media.
