BAO STREET CONNECT’S MOVING TRAIN LANDS IN OGOTUN, ILAWE

You can’t beat the reach is a popular advertising slogan in describing any article of high commercial value, but that seems to be the sing song of thousands of residents of Igbara-Odo/Ogotun LCDA as well as Ekiti South West Local Governments who trooped out in their numbers to receive the moving train of ‘BAO Street Connect’

The second edition in the series, BAO Street Connect is another fantastic community engagement activity put together by the office of Community Communications to feel the pulse of the people at the grassroots with a view to getting necessary feedback on the performance index of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

What of the tumultuous welcome by enthusiastic crowd of BAO’s faithful lovers at Ogotun who thronged the Palace Square with all manners of banners calling for the return of “home boy’ ‘BAO LEKAN SI’.

Such was the electrifying atmosphere of the ancient town when the convoy of magnetic Mary Oso Omotoso arrived the waiting hands of the Chairman of Igbara-Odo/Ogotun LCDA, Hon. Mrs. Bukola Olowolaju and all members of her executive council including the legislative arm.

The Chairperson, obviously a grassroots politician with the garb of oratory and infectious personality addressed the capacity crowd amidst the thounderous shouts of ‘BAO JOO, BAO JARE’ by the jubilants gathering. Up

She expressed delight for hosting the BAO Connect team in her LCDA after several requests from the office of Community Communications.

She used the occasion to highlight Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s positive impacts in the council area in the past two years of his administration.
Top on the list according to her was the rehabilitation of Igbara-Odo-Ogotun Road.

In another breath, Hon. Olowolaju reminded the crowd of how Governor Oyebanji, virtually liberated the people in the LCDA from the long time slavery of depending on erratic supply of electricity from Ondo State until Mr Governor came to their rescue by restoring the light in the whole LCDA .

She listed youths in agriculture, employment of teachers and prompt payment of salaries to all categories of workers and pensioners amongst others as some of the impactful legacies of Oyebanji in the LCDA.

Responding, the DG thanked her host for the warm reception and the genuine love for Mr Governor shown by the entire community.

She expressed how lucky Ekiti has been for having a leader like Governor Biodun Oyebanji at this time while lighting some of his laudable achievements in every nooks and crannies of Ekiti State.

She emphasized that the rationale behind the BAO Connect project is to further enhance the inseparable bond that the Governor has established with the people of Ekiti State through the constant engagement with every community in the state.

One of the high points of the Ogotun ‘BAO Connect’ outreach was the lively entertainment section where the DG organized dance competition among the youths and the aged, where participants went home with gifts items like recharge cards, cash and food stuffs.

At the end of the hilarious experiment, not a few were of the opinion that Governor BAO is indeed a rare gift to Ekiti State saying that his second term in office, if he decides to run is going to be a walk over.
