It is no doubt that the rapid expansion of Ado Ekiti has opened the sprawling city from the main town to new communities dogged by difficult terrains, bad roads and mountaineous features such that availability of drinking water becomes a daunting task for the residents.

This was the lot of people living in remote Bolorunduro axis of Ajebandele area of Ado Ekiti until Wednesday December 17, 2025 when the Chairman of Ado Central LCDA Engr. Toyin Ojo F.N.S.E built a solar powered borehole for the residents amid jubilation.

The Chairman, Landlords Association of the area, Mr M.A Ajiki during the commissioning ceremony, painted a gory picture of non availability of water in the area due to rocky terrain which has made it difficult for house owners to venture into digging wells for domestic usage over the years until the Council Chairman intervened.

He however expressed the gratitude of the entire people of the area to the Engr Toyin Ojo-led administration for deeming it fit to remember them in the provision of democratic dividends touching on water as the most crucial need of the community.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ado All Progressives Congress, APC Hon. Akinleye in his address, urged the residents to take ownership of the project after commissioning by guiding against any theft or damage to the property as he noted that the community is in need of other amenities from the government.

The politician however, used the occasion to canvas for large turn out of voters from the area in the forth coming election for the return of the incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji whose victory according to him is a “done deal” adding that multiple of votes from the area may be an avenue to create a separate federal constituency in Ado Ekiti.

Engr. Ojo in his address, disclosed that he has so far, built and completed eight borehole projects for people of his LCDA in this year alone fulfilling his promise to the people as he was set to commision the remaining two at Ogbon Ado and Oke Oniyo respectively.

He returned all the glory to Governor Oyebanji who, according to him, has made it easier for him to provide amenities for the people of his domain noting that the Governor has mandated all the council chairmen to always grant the most relevant request of the communities since the Local Government is the nearest to the people.

In a similar vein, he made a passionate appeal to the people to be the owners and security of the facility as the Council would not be favourably disposed to any complaints over the water project after commissioning.

He used the occasion to thank the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe ably represented by his wife Eyesorun Bosede Adejugbe for his yeoman’s efforts at creation of Ekiti State through which democratic structures including local governments came to be.

Performing the commissioning of the water projects consisting of 6 water points, the Eyesorun who expressed shock at the existence of such a remote community in Ado Ekiti praised Engr Ojo for his love for grassroots development especially in the provision of basic social amenities for the people at the grassroots saying that the Council boss has been a good example of Governor Oyebanji as a champion of good governance at the local level.

The reverred Eyesorun of Ado Ekiti prayed for Engr Toyin Ojo to move higher in whatever capacity of his political journey and service to humanity.

The train later moved to Ward 8 where Chief Elebira hosted the Engr Toyin Ojo’s team at the commissioning of the borehole project in the area.
