The Royal Father of Ilawe Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade has debunked a trending fake report of alleged invasion of bandits and kidnappers on some communities in his domain describing it as false and unfounded.
The monarch made the rebuttal in a press statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media Chief Olubunmi Ajibade made available to newsman in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.
The statement reads; “The attention of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi AFUNTADE I, has been drawn to a fake report circulating on the Social media that Bandits have invaded certain farmstead in Ilawe-Ekiti.
“This is to debunk the report and to emphasise that nothing of such happened. There are no Bandits and no kidnappings in Ilawe-Ekiti or on any roads leading to the community.
“Members of the Public are advised to remain calm and continue with their normal activities”
Meanwhile, a verified recent
video of activities of security agencies and local vigilantes taking charge of all entry and exit points to Ilawe has been trending as at time of filing this report to allay the fears of residents of the community.
